Love and Passion

February 17th, 2009

From the East Hampton Star:

As the February thaw sets in, it’s time for the annual “Love and Passion” show at Ashawagh Hall in Springs. This year the exhibit, which features over 50 artists and is curated by Karyn Mannix, is called “Venus Envy.” It opens on Saturday at noon with a reception that day from 5 to 8 p.m.

A sampling of the artists whose work will be on view: Dennis Leri, Rosa Hanna Scott, Abby Abrams, Nick Tarr, Len Bernard, Gerri Giliberti, Setha Low, Stephanie Reit, and Linda Capello. The show is fund-raiser for the building fund at Ashawagh Hall and will include a 50-50 raffle at the reception. Raffle tickets cost $5 or five for $20.

On Sunday at 2 p.m. at the hall, the Springs Improvement Society will hold “Springs Memories,” a celebration of past Fisherman’s Fairs and other Springs events. Interested participants have been invited to take photos or memorabilia to share.

“Love and Passion” can also be seen Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
