State of Purgatory

From the East Hampton Star:

Forty artists have joined together to present works on the “State of Purgatory” in an exhibit at Ashawagh Hall in Springs. It can be seen on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Historical and modern conceptions of purgatory from temporary postmortem suffering of the soul to a condition of emotional or spiritual torment followed by purification will be explored.

Among the many artists on view will be Roisin Bateman, John Capello, Trish Franey, Tracy Harris, Setha Low, Kristi Hood, Jonathan Morse, and Dan Welden. A reception will be held on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m.
